Keep your number while you travel
Use your home number abroad for calls and texts, over your Haxzu data. No roaming, no day passes, and calls to the US are free with most carriers.

Locked to your carrier with roaming off, so it never joins a foreign network and your carrier's day pass never starts.

Calls and texts ride on Wi-Fi Calling
Your phone sends your home number's calls over Haxzu data, as if you were on Wi-Fi.
Set up your phone
Do the first part at home: some carriers only turn on Wi-Fi Calling on their own network.
Before you leave
- 1Settings > Cellular > your home line > Wi-Fi Calling: turn it on while you're still at home.
- 2Still at home, lock your home line to your carrier: Settings > Cellular > your home line > Network Selection, turn Automatic off, wait 1 to 3 minutes for the list to load, then tap your carrier (the name shown in Control Center).
- 3Install your Haxzu eSIM over Wi-Fi, and leave it off until you land.
When you land
- 1Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data: choose your Haxzu line.
- 2Haxzu line > Cellular Data Options > Data Roaming: on.
- 3Home line > Cellular Data Options > Data Roaming: off (and Voice Roaming off, if you see it).
- 4Turn Allow Cellular Data Switching off, so your home line never uses data abroad.
- 5Default Voice Line: your home line.
- 6Check the status bar shows your carrier with “Wi-Fi”, then call a US number to test.
Why lock your home line before you go
With your carrier chosen by hand, your home line can't attach to a foreign network, so it never roams. That matters on postpaid plans: with many carriers, even receiving a text abroad can start a daily international pass. Do it while you're still at home, because the network list only shows the networks around you. On a prepaid plan without roaming charges you can skip this. When you're back, turn automatic network selection on again.

Some countries block Wi-Fi Calling, including China, India, the UAE, Türkiye and Cuba. There, forward your calls instead.
Or forward your calls
Set this up before you leave, and calls to your home number ring wherever you forward them, such as a calling app on your Haxzu data. Texts stay on your home line.

Forward all calls, not only unanswered ones, or calls can still reach your phone while it roams.
Good to know
- Emergencies: dial the local number, like 112 in Europe. Your phone uses any network it can find.
- Verification codes: texts to your home number arrive over Wi-Fi Calling. An authenticator app is even more reliable while you travel.
- Back home: set your home line back to Cellular Data, and cancel any forwarding.
